Electrical Designer (Tenancy Division)

The Electrical Designer (Tenancy Division) is responsible for the design of electrical systems including Lighting, Fire Alarm, Power and Electrical systems in a fast paced Tenancy department.


Business Development

  • Work to develop strong, ongoing relationships with clients

General Management

  • Keep Group Lead, Tenant Services apprised of activities
  • Lead by example, following proper procedures
  • Participate in training courses as requested
  • Provide insightful and enthusiastic assistance to other staff
  • Schedule workload appropriately, maximizing productive time
  • Train and motivate other staff
  • Work enthusiastically with the Group to accomplish common objectives


  • Attend design and coordination meetings
  • Function as primary point of contact for Landlords, Tenants and Designers and Contractors
  • Check drawings for quality control
  • Comply with company Design Standards and CAD Standards
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines including Mechanical, Architectural, Structural and Interior Design
  • Create working drawings with AutoCAD
  • Design systems in accordance with OBC, OESC, ASHRAE, IES and/or other relevant Codes and Standards
  • Layout lighting, fire alarm, power and electrical systems
  • Maintain design files in an organized and up-to-date fashion in accordance with company Project Management Standards
  • Monitor and manage project progress and performance
  • Monitor CAD production
  • Perform site audits to confirm existing conditions
  • Prepare CCN and SI as required
  • Prepare detailed equipment room layouts including sections
  • Prepare detailed riser diagrams
  • Provide periodic site reviews and attend site meetings as required during construction
  • Report to Group Lead, Tenant Services any project related quality, speed or scheduling issue
  • Review and comment on shop drawing submittals
  • Size distribution, feeders, conduit, wire, etc.
  • Review quotations and progress draws
  • Perform site reviews including finals during construction and prepare site visit reports

Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the Engineering Consulting industry
  • Familiar with OBC, OESC, ASHRAE and other relevant Codes and Standards
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Ability to think independently
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with reading and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Architectural drawings
  • Experience with Windows, BlueBeam and general computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills
