Cisco Toronto Innovation Centre

Home to the Canadian headquarters of this IT giant, this project encompasses a 4-floor fit-out over 80,000 ft². The facility features a client-facing Innovation Centre that is one-of-a kind in North America, video conferencing rooms, cafes, collaboration spaces, a critical computer room, and multipurpose rooms. Aptly located within the new LEED Platinum WaterPark Place III in Toronto’s downtown core, HIDI provided mechanical, electrical and lighting* design, in addition to commissioning services, for this LEED Gold project.

Thanks to the client’s ‘Internet of Things’ mandate, this project boasts the first large scale commercial installation of Power of Ethernet-enabled luminaires in North America. Effectively implementing this new technology, we reduced the Lighting Power Density to 52.6% below ASHRAE 90.1 2007 allowances. Lighting is tailored to users’ needs via occupancy-based controls, daylight sensing, and pre-set scenes with dimming.
