The HIDI Group provided electrical, lighting, and communications services for the Quinte Consolidated Courthouse, valued at approximately $247 million. The six-storey courthouse boasts a total of fourteen large and small courtrooms, for both municipal and provincial services, a mandatory segregation of service pathways for prisoners, public and judicial services staff, prisoner holding cells in the basement and an airlock vehicle discharge space for prisoners along with above and underground parking. The facility, designed by WZMH Architects, was targeted to achieve LEED Silver Certification, yet surpassed this and has achieved LEED Gold, and was delivered through a DBFM contract. This project supported the revitalization of downtown Belleville through the creation of an iconic civic building and has received an Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Section Service Award and Award of Merit.
