HIDI Security was the prime consultant for security upgrades of an acute care mental health facility. The project includes the design of secure interlocks (electronically interlocked vestibule doors) at all access points to nursing units within the building, the design of a new secured courtyard, the replacement and upgrade of an existing access control system and comprehensive video surveillance system upgrades.
Surveillance cameras are IP based and will be implemented at numerous locations throughout the campus over its data communications network. A number of the access controlled doors are specialized designs with two electromagnetic locks and rugged electric strikes on quiet rooms.
Detailed design coordination with all stakeholders has been an essential project component in the design phase.
