Nestled in the heart of Toronto’s financial district, the 112,000 ft² Capital One head office spans 5 floorplates, accommodating approximately 700 associates. The office boasts an inviting new work environment consisting of open workspaces, private offices, meeting rooms, galleys, a game room, and informal lounge areas in an open office plan.

The dynamic space breaks away from the mold of traditional office design, and takes its design lead from bold hospitality projects. Black and vibrant colour finishes are used liberally in various share spaces such as reception, collaborative hubs, meeting rooms, and conference rooms to evoke the innovation and humanity for which Capital One stands. Designed in collaboration with IBI Group, The HIDI Group provided Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Protection design while Alula Lighting Design provided the lighting.

The innovative interior design plays with five unique workspace concepts spread out over the office’s five floors to represent the diverse strategy and knowledge of the company. HIDI and ALULA worked closely with key stakeholders, taking careful consideration when designing the Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Protection systems, to ensure these concepts were seamlessly woven together while simultaneously creating an efficient, functional, cost effective, and aesthetically pleasing design.
