The HIDI Group was the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design consultants for Phase 1A, Package 1000-208, of the Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone. This was the first phase of Abu Dhabi’s largest infrastructure scheme, it covers more than 400 km² in Taweelah, between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It is the ‘gateway to Abu Dhabi’ and one of the world’s largest industrial zones.

The project was delivered utilizing a Design Build model, where HIDI was employed by the Mechanical and Electrical Contractor as part of their design team. The project includes over 50 buildings of varying sizes and complexity, seven of which were designed to meet the Estidama 2 Pearl Rating, Abu Dhabi’s sustainable design/construction rating system.
