ST. REGIS TORONTO – PROPERTY IMPROVEMENT PLAN

Designed by Zeidler Partnership Architects, The St Regis Residence Toronto (formerly The Trump Hotel and Residence) is the first of its brand in Canada.  The Hotel includes 261 hotel suites, 118 condominium suites with a super penthouse, 2 levels of recreational space, a spa, a 5 star restaurant and bar, 6 levels of parking, and a residential sky lobby at level 31.

 

The HIDI Group provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and communications for the property improvement plan (PIP), working closely with architects Core Architects and The Design Agency.  The HIDI team refreshed the systems and services for the newly updated lobby (32,000 ft²) and restaurant (46,000 ft²). The project was phased in order to cover Phase 1 - modifications to and upgrades of existing life safety and fire alarm system, and to bring the existing building to compliance with the current codes and the St. Regis brand standards. Phase 2A included the creation of new 30th Floor Sky Lobby, Reception, and St. Regis Bar, as well as renovation of the existing 31st floor restaurant, bar, and the associated mezzanine level private dining room. Renovation of existing ground floor lobby and Port Cochere were also part of Phase 2A. The final Phase, 2B included creation of Butler Pantry spaces, refresh of fitness centre, swimming pool & whirlpool, administration, and interior & exterior signage.

 

The HIDI Group provided the original base building consulting for the tower.

 

Challenges

One of the challenges faced during construction was that the building’s hotel and residence was still occupied and operational.
