The Hazelton Is a considered to be one of Toronto’s first luxury boutique hotels, located in the stylish Yorkville neighbourhood. Designed by Page + Steele Architects Planners and the world renowned interior designer Yabu Pushelberg. The 9 storey building includes 80 guestrooms, 18 penthouse style condominium units, state of the art screening room, Spa, 3 levels of underground parking and tenant space for a restaurant. The Hazelton has become a major social hub for locals and visitors including many notable celebrities and athletes.

The HIDI Group provided both mechanical, electrical, plumbing and communications for the 5 star hotel. Our scope of the project included mechanical documentation which included HVAC, plumbing, fire standpipe and standard sprinkler systems.

Electrical documentation that addressed power distribution, circuiting, lighting, life safety systems, and rough-in (including conduit and/or raceways) for telephone, data, audio/visual and security systems.

Communications documentation that covered all voice/data horizontal requirements as well as copper and fibre backbone to support all floors. Our team also addressed the suite distribution for all outlets, including coaxial for cable TV/internet.

The hotel opened in 2007 and was awarded the Pug Award in 2008 for best commercial architecture for 2008.
