École Sir John A Macdonald Public School offers Kindergarten to Grade 6 as well as French Immersion and English. The building has over 34 classrooms as well as a library/ makerspace and a 6,000 ft² gymnasiums. The building boasts green construction to reduce energy and water production and its overall environmental footprint due to its highly efficient heating and cooling system, low-flow water fixtures and other sustainable features. HRCx provided commissioning services for the newly constructed École Sir John A Macdonald Public School, a 3-storey building, which included energy efficient design, use of natural gas for heating and domestic water, and use of outdoor air for free cooling and heat recovery to meet the guideline set by ASHRAE 0-2005. We continue to work closely with the Limestone District School Board. The school has since won two City of Kingston Liveable City Awards: Award of Excellence and People’s Choice award for 2014.
