At The HIDI Group, we have always placed importance on ownership and transparency – as a 100% employee owned company, we enable our team to play a vital part in the firm’s direction, decision-making, and sharing of our founding principles and values.
The HIDI Group is providing Communications, Security, Network Integration (PBX, Network, Wi-Fi, IPTV, Cellular DAS, PTT Radio, Staff Communications and Guestroom Automation) and Risk & Resilience consulting for this $364 million renovation of the historic World Trade Center Building in New Orleans’ French Quarter. The project was selected from 11 proposals submitted to the City for redevelopment of the 33-storey tower, which was purchased by the City in 2012 and sits on one of its prime real estate holdings. The HIDI Group are also providing MEP Peer Review to the Local MEP Engineer.
Challenges overcome included segregation of residential units at the top of the building and providing diverse Telecom service providers coming into the building. A large podium addition to the building houses a very large Ballroom, Meeting Rooms and rooftop pool.
The building was vacated after Hurricane Katrina. Partners Carpenter & Company and Woodward Design+Build have secured a 99-year lease from the city to develop 350 quest rooms, 76 luxury condos, a two-storey public rooftop observation deck, and a museum curated by Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr.
HIDI are also providing Telecommunications and Security services for the NOLA Experience Museum, which is an interactive museum untilizing technology such as AR and VR within its exhibits. When the 13,000 ft² space is not in use will also be used as event space to be managed by the Four Seasons Hotel.
