The HIDI Group provided electrical design services for Lawson Lundell LLP new Calgary office, designed by Jerilyn Wright & Associates was developed to create 80% open space and 20% closed office space. The 21,900 ft² floor plate is divided up to includes reception & waiting room, executive boardroom, meeting rooms, elevator lobby, client washroom, server room, offices, workstations, file area, storage rooms, copy rooms, IT room, staff lounge and bistro and single staff shower/change room/washroom.

HIDI’s electrical scope included lighting design, power, communications, security and life safety. The space was tied into the base building lighting control system and employed motion sensors throughout and touch controls in each of the meeting/boardrooms for easy scene selections.

The AV systems were designed with the end user in mind, keeping the spaces functional and logical. Copy areas were designed as bright spaces with plenty of storage. The reception is designed with a modern feel, with the light fixtures doubling as artistic interest. The space employs the most recent technologies available to ensure the office remains sustainability conscious though the lifecycle of the technology used.

The project required a 3-month turnaround, to achieve and meet the client’s deadline, design and construction schedules were condensed which necessitated attention from all teams, and excellent communication to keep the project moving forward.
